Yoga Classes for Autumn 2014

Our Ethos

My vision when starting OceanSpirit Swim School was to connect people to the water, regardless of age or ability. Everyone should have the opportunity to make the most of their local pool or the open sea.

At OceanSpirit we look at the individual on a more holistic basis and teach accordingly. Having practiced and taught yoga around the world for the last 15 years, I have found a connection between yoga and swimming. I have found that these two essential disciplines can work in harmony together.

We all have a different way of learning, different bodies and minds. At OceanSpirit we work in small groups, which enables us to to achieve real results. All of our teachers have the same ethos. We encourage our students to learn in a different way. To feel what we are teaching, to feel every part of the stroke. Swimming then becomes a joy that has a connection back to nature.

OceanSpirit is just not about teaching swimming. As western society has evolved, we have lost our connection with nature. My vision is to bring myself and those who I teach into a kinship with nature and the ocean!

Growing up by the sea and traveling the world, experiencing many different oceans, I have been enriched. I have learned respect not only for the sea but for all nature on this wonderful planet of ours. My aim is to allow that view to colour all of the teaching at the OceanSpirit Swim School.
